Who are the Friends?
The Friends of the Stephenville Public Library is a nonprofit
organization and is comprised of individuals, businesses, and
organizations with the mutual goal of support of the Stephenville Public
Library. It was reorganized in April 2000.
Did you know?
Money from membership dues and Friends events help support library
activities and services not always covered by public funding.
How do we help?
- Support Erath County Youth Writer's Contest with monetary
awards.
- Add to the library's collection by purchasing periodicals and
Stephenville Empire Tribune microfilm
through 1999.
- Raise funds through the Annual Book Sale in October.
- Host quarterly meetings, offering cultural opportunities such as
presentations of area authors and educational demonstrations for
children.
- Donate funds received through providing research assistance to
the building fund.
- Volunteer 1200+ hours in staff-freeing activities.
- Sponsor and underwrite programs not included in the budget, such
as furniture, carpet, and the Annual Author's Dinner.
