The Stephenville Public Library offers a variety of services.

Library Cards

We offer library cards free of charge to all city residents and to out of city residents for a small annual fee.

We offer a variety of adult, teen, and children's fiction and nonfiction books.

Books and audio books are available for a check out period of 2 weeks.

Magazines and DVDs may be checked out for 2 days.

You may renew books and audio books up to 2 times.

Homebound Delivery

The Stephenville Public Library offers delivery of library items to adults who are homebound. Contact the library for more information.

Books for the Blind or Deaf

The library offers library materials through Talking Books for Texans.

Through this service, the library can order books on cassette or CD, large print books, or Braille books. These may be ordered in English, Spanish, or another language.

Computer and Internet Access

We have a number of computers open to patrons for internet and data use. Patrons who wish only to use the computer may register for a computer card for free.

To obtain a library card, click here for more information. If you would like a computer only card, bring a picture ID with you to the library.

If you'd like to use a computer, let the library staff know. They will scan your card and assign you a computer. Please make sure you sign in on the clipboard at the front desk. All spaces must be filled in.

Children under 12 must be accompanied by a guardian while using a computer.

Copy Machine and Printer

We have a black & white copy machine and printer available to the public at a cost of $0.10 a page.

Interlibrary Loans

Unfortunately, the library cannot carry every book, audio book, or resource that every patron would like. However, we can order an interlibrary loan.

To request an interlibrary loan, you may download the form here and bring it in or fill it out at the library.

It can take anywhere from a week to several months to receive the item you request. We will call you when it comes in or let you know if we cannot get it.

Unfortunately, we cannot order any newly released books or items.
